Radius collaborated with a Suboxone certified physician who would oversee the private detox process. Together, Gary and the live-in EHD Nurse visited the consulting physician to discuss the treatment plan. A seven-day Suboxone detox was meticulously designed and put into action, aligning with ASAM criteria and utilizing the Clinical Opiate Withdrawal Scale (COWS) for Suboxone induction.
To maximize comfort and convenience, the Suboxone detox was initiated on a Friday, allowing for a full weekend for induction and subsequent weaning off Suboxone. On Monday, Gary was able to spend four hours at work, with the nurse providing geographically close support in case assistance was needed. As the days progressed, Gary gradually increased his work hours and, by the end of the week, he was working his normal schedule, completely free from Suboxone and heroin.
To ensure a sustained recovery, an aftercare plan was developed in collaboration with Gary.
